Good Good Father ~ Children’s Book Review and Free Printables

Good Good Father CoverGood Good Father is a praise song that is performed regularly by our praise and worship team on Sundays – I enjoy it not only because the words point us to Him and His love for us, but it is also easy to sing along to!  My daughter loves to sing along when it comes on the radio in the car, too.  The words stick in my mind and remind me that God is here – with me – and not far off somewhere in space!

I was delighted to find out that this month’s Tommy Nelson resource is a book based on the song! Good Good Father was written by Chris Tomlin (the performer) and Pat Barrett (one of the writers). It is the story of a little bear who goes on a journey to see the King to see if He will help his friends who have troubles.

The little bear knows that the castle door is always open, and that he can walk right in.  The King greets him by name and is overjoyed to see him.  I love how this book presents God as a loving Father who is always available and ready to welcome us into His presence.  My daughter and I both loved the story, and the illustrations by Lorna Hussey are endearing.

A Good Good Father protects you.

A Good Good Father teaches you.

A Good Good Father makes you feel better.

A Good Good Father gives you what you need.

A Good Good Father fills life with music and laughter.

And most of all, a Good Good Father loves you!

This is just the type of book I love to read to my daughter while we are snuggling on the couch. Good Good Father would make a beautiful gift for the little ones in your life, too!
