C.S. Lewis is one of my favorite authors, and I was delighted to come across this quote the other day on Pinterest, of all places! As an “older mom” of a young child – I’m 44 – I sometimes feel that I’m behind on everything, or arrived a little too late in the game. For a (small) example, I just discovered blogging last November, even though I’ve had an online business since 1999. Another example would be my housekeeping (or lack thereof…perhaps I should set a new goal). But let’s not talk about that.

The Chronicles of Narnia books are among my all-time favorite fiction – these are wonderful stories, full of imaginary characters and journeys. Written to keep both kids and adults glued to their pages! I also enjoyed his Space Trilogy science fiction series (these are not for younger children).

Several years ago I read Mere Christianity. I highly recommend it to those who are interested in solid teaching on the Christian faith, or in learning how to present it to those who do not believe. As a philosopher and a thinker, C.S. Lewis was able to describe in Mere Christianity his journey from skeptic to believer in such a way that the average person could follow along and understand.
