Then where is God when bad things happen?
Isn’t this a question that we have all asked at one time or another? God Is Always Good is a wonderful book written by Tama Fortner and illustrated by Veronica Vasylenko. I love how it answers this question:
God is always there, right by our side. You just have to look and see Him. He’s with the police and firefighters, so strong and brave. He’s with the doctors and nurses and the lives they save. God sends people to help and to hug. Because when bad things happen….God uses His people to show His great love.
God Is Always Good: Comfort for Kids Facing Grief, Fear, or Change uses scripture throughout the book to address children’s fears, anxieties, and questions. Such as, “But sometimes I still get scared,” “But sometimes not-so-good things happen,” “I wish things didn’t have to change. Why can’t everything just stay the same?” During life’s stressful times it can be difficult for an adult to understand why things are happening, and even to trust God. For children, it can be even more confusing. I love this book because it provides an opportunity for a child to sit down with a care-giver and receive comfort from Scripture, soothing words, and sweet illustrations.
