The Color Code Bible For Kids ~ Book Review

A New Way To Study

When I first opened the new Bible in the Tommy Nelson August Resources package, I was intrigued – what an interesting new way to study the Bible!

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post, but was given a free book to review. I am an affiliate of Amazon, and will receive a small commission if a link on this page is used to make a purchase.

My next thought was – why only for kids?  Adults could use this Color Code Bible too!  In fact, I’m going to keep it by “my spot” on the couch and start going through the verses highlighted in gold tonight!

The Color Code Bible is a full text Bible in the New King James version.  The color coding throughout the book highlights verses that fit into 7 different themes:

  • Gold – God
  • Red – Jesus
  • Navy – sin/evil
  • Orange – washed clean from sin/new life
  • Green – spiritual growth/faith walk
  • Blue – prayer/praise
  • Purple – heaven

Which Color Would You Like To Read Today?

Even at 48 years old, often I don’t know where to start reading.  I know I need to plan, but unfortunately my priorities aren’t always in order.  I give myself grace because I know a lot of Moms are in the same situation – we tend to take care of what needs doing RIGHT NOW and leave the things that “can wait.”  Somehow the color coding in the text makes it seem easier – I could pick this Bible up for a few minutes and read several gold or red or green verses out loud to my daughter, or just to myself!  Ask your kids – which color do you want to read today?

There is a study guide at the beginning that describes the seven color-coded themes – a wonderful place to start a Bible study. Also included is a section called “What Is The Bible?”, a Bible Reading Plan, pages for notes and prayer requests, and a few colorful maps.

This Bible would make a nice gift to a child, or to a new believer who isn’t quite sure how to get started in studying the Bible.
