Grace For The Moment Devotionals by Max Lucado ~ A Review

Grace For The Moment Spines

Happy New Year!  (Almost.)  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to a brand new year.  Do you make resolutions?  I haven’t been one to make (or keep) them for several years, but I have had a desire lately to spend more time in the Word.  If you have young kids, you know how difficult to carve out quiet time for yourself.  I usually spend mine resting in my glider chair, crocheting and watching TV, too tired to do anything else.  My prayer for 2016 is that God will provide me with some time and energy to dive back into the Scriptures and a devotional book or two.

Grace For The Moment InsideEncouraging Daily Devotionals

Fortunately for me, the Thomas Nelson resources this month include a bundle of two devotionals by Max Lucado – one for kids, and one for their grown-ups!  Grace for the Moment: Inspirational Thoughts for Each Day of the Year includes brief excerpts from several of Lucado’s books (a few of which are on my shelves).

There is a devotional and scripture verse for each day: to encourage you in the morning, or to give you a sound truth on which to meditate as you go to sleep. Each day’s page in Grace for the Moment: 365 Devotions for Kids corresponds with the grown-up version, so you and your children can talk about the day’s devotion and share your thoughts. (What a great idea!)

We All Need GraceGrace For The Moment For Kids Inside

Max Lucado’s voice is a truthful, soothing reminder of the power and reality of God’s grace in our lives.  A welcome respite in a world that often judges us – children and adults alike – by what we say, do, and look like.  In my experience, we all need constant reminders of God’s love and complete acceptance!  When we as parents experience that, it is so much easier to model it for our children.  Being is so much more natural than acting.  (I hope you know what I mean!)

I’m very happy to be able to offer this review and giveaway to my readers – Max Lucado has been one of my favorite authors for years.  His writing is deep, yet down-to-earth.  If you’ve never read one of his books, these devotionals will give you a wonderful introduction!
