Good Night, Little Pumpkin ~ Children’s Book Review

Good Night Little Pumpkin Book CoverIt is starting to get a little cooler here, and although we had a great summer, I’m looking forward to the Fall season and the upcoming holidays!  Halloween is just around the corner, and if you are looking for an alternative to traditional stories this year for your little ones, consider this cute little board book by Claire Keay.  Little Pumpkin and his family are visiting a fall festival and having fun playing games and winning prizes.  The little kids’ costumes are all family-friendly and “unscary” (I know, I just made up my own word).  All the Fall season activities described in the book made me long for crisp evenings and the smell of Autumn.

I’m aware that some families avoid celebrating Halloween, and I totally understand, but we enjoy the fun side of the day – cute costumes, games, and candy (in moderation, of course)!   My family tries to keep it light and fun, and avoid the scary stuff.  Good Night, Little Pumpkin fits right in with this goal, and my 4 year old loved it!  The illustrations really are adorable, and very appealing to children.
