As a mother of a preschooler, parents of older kids often remind me to “enjoy them while they are little, it goes by so fast.” Surprisingly, I’m not bothered by their reminders. It seems like some days, all that I accomplish is doing things for my child, and I forget to sit down and make sure that I actually connect with her. It’s so easy to get caught up in the busy-ness of life, and to forget what really matters.
So, here is some encouragement to leave the housework once in awhile, and create some memories with your children. Play a game, go to the playground, or take a day trip to a favorite museum! Be sure to take some pictures, too. My favorite photos are often the ones that aren’t posed, they are the ones that capture life in motion!
The folks at Gymboree want you to join them in celebrating and sharing cherished moments in childhood. Gymboree has created an amazing new video to help kick off this campaign and I am thrilled to share it with you. It is truly touching. So watch and enjoy, then share your favorite cherished childhood moments in the comments!
Be sure to use the hashtag #cherishchildhood when commenting or sharing this video with friends! Without further ado, I present to you “Today we’ve got to play!” sponsored by Gymboree:
The photos in this post are of the life-sized dollhouse at the Oak Ridge Children’s Museum in Tennessee. This museum is definitely worth the trip – it is a wonderful place for the whole family to play and learn together!
