Autumn is a wonderful time to do some nature crafts and Thanksgiving-themed activities with kids! Crafting can be a creative way to learn about the changing seasons and the origins of Thanksgiving in America.
Flickr is a great source of ideas for homeschoolers and crafters. Not only can you browse images by category, but many Flickr users allow others to use their images under the Creative Commons license (the above images are used under this license). When you upload your images to Flickr and choose the Creative Commons license, you are permitting the use of them in commercial purposes, as long as credit is given to you. (This is a simplified explanation – for more information, please Explore Creative Commons on Flickr.)
Awesome Flickr Gallery Plugin
A few weeks ago I created a few galleries while browsing through images on Flickr, and thought it would be great if I could find a way to easily share them in blog posts. I discovered the Awesome Flickr Gallery WordPress Plugin – you can read more about it here.
I created the gallery above while looking for Fall and Thanksgiving kids craft ideas. I was thrilled to find so many creative people sharing their projects! Clicking on one of the images above will open it in a larger view. Click on the linked name underneath, and it will take you to the photographer’s photostream on Flickr! Enjoy!
