About The Park

Parrot Mountain & Gardens Mission, Goals, and Objectives:  To help protect and preserve exotic parrots and softbill type species through a captive breeding program to help prevent the danger of extinction. To provide a home for abused and unwanted birds. To educate the public on the care and well being of these magnificent creatures. To provide a park for the education, awareness, and enjoyment of these avian wonders for future generations, keeping in harmony with the beauty, and serenity of the mountains.” – Parrot Mountain & Gardens Web Site

Parrot Mountain - Bird on my head

It is a beautiful walk through the gardens and bird sanctuaries. Although there are rather steep areas, (hence the name Parrot Mountain) many pleasant, shady areas to rest are provided. There is a “Secret Garden,” several opportunities to feed and hold the birds, and a baby bird nursery.  If your little ones are scared of loud noises or small animals, you may want to wait until they are older to visit this attraction – the birds are very loud and quick.

Sandwiches and hamburgers are available to purchase; you can lunch on the deck overlooking the gardens.
